How would you describe your teaching style?
My approach towards teaching consists mostly of learning concepts and then instantly applying them in exam questions and practice papers. This will allow students to apply what they learned and help them understand how what I have taught them is applicable in different contexts.
What does a typical lesson look like?
A typical lesson will begin with me giving a brief overview of the topic we will go through, then I will annotate the specification of the subject and go through the points in the topic to make sure we have covered everything. Then we will complete some exam questions on the topic in order to consolidate the learning!
What sparked your passion for tutoring this subject?
For me personally, I am very interested in the Sciences and how they have shaped the world around us, and I would like to instill this passion in my students! I also personally just like teaching in general, it is very satisfying for me to help a student understand a concept and help them boost their confidence!
What teaching experience do you have?
I have been a tutor for 2 years, teaching many subjects, including English, Maths and Science, although I have a preference for the Sciences! I have worked with students of all ages, from around year 3 all the way up to year 13! I have a lot of experience with how to structure my lessons depending on the ages of the pupils, which will help them to learn effectively.
What particular area do you find interesting in the Sciences and why?
For me, I personally find Physics and Chemistry to be the most interesting parts of Science, purely because it is all about defining what we do not know and cannot see, based on experiments and theories! This is very fascinating to me!
